We were inspired by the unexpected heroes in the SOS Ukraine project
They had to leave their homes and their everyday life to escape the clutches of the voracious Russian bear. From day to day they enlisted to defend their country. Some were forced to flee to a foreign country before the war. Before they can return home, they mainly need to survive with dignity. They stand in the middle of a fighting commotion. In order to win the war for their home, they need protective equipment and weapons. All these people are heroes in our eyes, because every single day they show great courage, the will to live and to take what is rightfully theirs - Ukraine.
Young children, their parents and grandparents, who still lived ordinary lives like us yesterday, are everyday heroes today. Among them are our Ukrainian employees, who have found not only a roof over their heads with us and their families, but above all a meaningful job that helps the Ukrainian army to obtain funds to defend the country.
Despite everything they have experienced, they are not bitter, on the contrary, they still surprise us with their energy, enthusiasm, diligence. None of us other employees speak Ukrainian, but a sense of belonging and a sincere desire to communicate at multiple levels helps us all to overcome the language barrier. We learn from them. Our warm and smiling Vala taught me yesterday with immense patience to make the badges you see on our e-shop today. We worked our way up to such an efficient workflow that in the end we didn't even have time to prepare bags for finished products.
Put on a respirator with a Ukrainian flag on the tram. Wear a T-shirt with a striking message to the Russian aggressor. Make coffee in a mug with a blue-yellow heart that beats for Ukraine. Pin a badge with the Ukrainian emblem on your coat. Place stickers with an anti-war message on the lampposts in the steet. Any euro you spend on the purchase of these solidarity symbols made by our Ukrainian heroes will go directly to the Ukrainian army.
Support Ukraine, support the heroes.
